How can I remove/delete MY name from another Yahoo member's messenger's friends list?
-
I have done it before several years ago. I don't want to block my name or appear "permanently offline" to this person. I want my name to be GONE from HIS list. I no longer want him to be able to see my name on his messenger list.

what you may have stumbled across already or have been made aware of is using a program called Deny a Buddy, there are quite a few of them around, some work, some don't and depending on where you get it from some will come with more than what you bargined on as not all are/were as they appear to be on the outside. the main issue with DAB programs is that you have to login to them with your yahoo username and password... not too long back ppl would download, install, login, remove former friends then log out of DAB and find they no longer had access to their yahoo accounts because the DAB program they used was actually acting as a phishing scam... so do take care if you do decide to download and install one.... make sure you are happy with the look, feel and first impression of the website you get it from, then scan your computer... virus scan, malware etc etc some of the ones i have played around with in the past have been... there is one available at zak.. http://nobuddy.zak.2ya.com/ it hasn't been updated for a while so i'm not sure if that will still work. DAB at trolling around is perhaps the most popular... http://www.geocities.com/trolling_around/ just scroll to the bottom of the page, it's under "other things" John from PS Soft has one... http://www.programmingsource.net/www/index.php but you need to be a registered member (free) to download his utilities as above though, scan, scan scan :) what they will do is remove your name from the other persons Yahoo! Messenger friends list... now I haven't played around with these lately but two things to note... they might not actually remove your ID from the users address book, something which is recommended when the user logs into their yahoo messenger and notices your ID is missing, they will perhaps attempt to re-add you... and you might not get a permission prompt to accept / decline.. thus you will be in a position where you assume you are no longer on their list when in fact they have re-added you your best bet if you wish to pursue this is to play around with it with a trusted friend, see what happens when you remove them, try when they are online, offline etc... there is a wide variation that can occur so take care and never assume it has worked.
