Another Dumb Question.....Yahoo Messenger starts up Automatically?

when i first turn on my pute - i know i have change this before so it wouldnt do it until i want it to, but when i upgraded messenger it went back to automatic...i know its simple - but i am so lost right now...please answer step by step for dummies...lol ...and thanx guts and gals

On the Yahoo Msgr taskbar : Messenger --> Preferences --> General --> uncheck "Automatically Start"

I'm assuming you have windows. go to start > Run > type in msconfig > ok > click start up tab > uncheck yahoo messenger (it should be in there)
