How do you block someone on Yahoo Messenger?

  • I got an email from someone who wants me to join him on Yahoo Messenger. I declined. How can I block someone permanently?

  • Answer:

    go to messenger>preferences>ignore list> and add the username to the ignore list.

On the main window that shows who all is on your list...go to "Messenger" on the top left. Then scroll down to "Preferences". About halfway down is "Ignore List". Add them to it. Also, when someone IM's you outta the blue with "hey.....sdkvhjartanfck", you can hit "Ignore" (on the window that pops up) and then another window will pop up and you can report them as Spam if you believe it is. And 99% of the time when it's a bunch of letters that make no sense, it is spam and should be reported.

Here's how you do it: Messenger>Preferences>Ignore List>"Ignore only the person below"put the Email Address in the box,..click:"Apply" and click: "OK". That's it,..they are now blocked! ;)
