When in IM chat rooms my full name is displayed when I am chatting with some one.How do I change it or remove

My full name comes up when I am IM with someone. And I don't want it to be displayed.

top of your messenger, click messenger, scroll down till you see preferences, click it...go to appearances, bottom of that page, click display yahoo id....
