Please help - how do I delete a profile?

How do you delete your 'Yahoo! People Search' Profile? Please Help!?

I don't like random strangers IM-ing me, and I can't figure out how to block everyone NOT in my contact list from contacting me. Is there any way to block someone BEFORE they IM you? Or, even better, is there any way just to block everyone all together? Two people that I don't know just IM-ed me, and they freak me out!! I blocked them, but I don't want to block every person and that contacts me. I just want to "pre-block" everyone. I know you can hide your email address, but what about your IM -- thing? I don't like strangers IM-ing me!!! Please Help Me!!!
Answer:

Go to messenger at top of main messenger window, then preferences, ignore list and then check the one for ignore anyone who is not on my list. click apply and okay. Or, go to your yahoo account and uncheck where it says to make your profile public, at the bottom of account page.
