When I added contacts some went to an address book and don't show up in contacts list?

I created a new IM and added contacts however some are not showing in contacts after confirming they are only showing up in address book and appear off line for some reason.

Answer:
on the messenger box, click Contacst > Show Offline Contacts : put a check mark because if they are offline/invisible, they won't be shown on your contact list.
