How do you block annoying Yahoo Messenger Users?

How do I stop Yahoo Messenger from popping up?

  • I'm in the new yahoo mail and it keeps popping up. It's driving me crazy and I'm about ready to give up on Yahoo mail and go to Google. The only option I've found is the messenger option on top of the mail page and I have clicked on "Block all users not in my Contact List. I will not be able to send or receive messages from users not in my Contact List", but this hasn't stopped the two pop ups every time I go to check my mail. I don't even use Yahoo messenger!! any help would be appreciated.

    i guess you are automatically signed on the webmessenger? but you mentioned Yahoo Mail also. the YMail has a built-in chat. but either of this two, if it's the webmessenger, "Sign out" your name. if it's on YMail chat, find the "Chat" word either, at the left side, top of your mailbox or at the left side, bottom part in blue color. click it and click "OFFLINE". if you can't find it, click on "NEW, down to Chat > Sign Out/OFFLINE".

Try this. Click messenger top left. Scroll down click preferences then general. Uncheck automatically start yahoo messenger and uncheck wait until I connect to the internet. Click o.k.

Were you see the Yahoo Messenger face...click on the small arrow...then below it..click on Sign Out........
