How do you use your nickname instead of real name on Yahoo Messenger? ?

I don't want my real name to come up when messy someone I dont know

log in. click on your profile for yahoo answers and click edit info.. thats under public view of profile uhm change it to nickname and change your nickname using the space provided

go to your yahoo, & EDIT your preferences........ just change your name, it's easy... good luck.

I believe that when you registered with Yahoo! to be a participant in various features their Web page offers, you had to give your real name and give some verification as to its viability. Then, you could chose some odd-ball nickname for other "playings" within the Web page. But anytime you want to utilize the emailing feature, Yahoo! is required to use your real name they have on record.

On your messenger window click on "Messenger" then on "My Contact Details" Delete your Real name and just fill in the nickname space to whatever nickname you want to use. Anything that you don't want to show up you need to leave blank.
