Unable to install the setup file of yahoo messenger 9.0?

  • 'am unable to install the setup file of of yahoo messenger 9.0. i have downloaded the setup file from google. whenever i try to install yahoo messenger 9.0 from that particular setup file, an error message window opens which says "Yahoo Messenger is unable to download files needed for installation. Please check firewall and retry installation" Please help me in solving my problem.

    Try turning your firewall off if that does not work you might need to install an older version of YIM. You will need to uninstall the one you have now before installing another one. Try this site it has all the older versions of yahoo messengers. This is what I had to do. Yahoo IM 9 did not work for me. I have vista and 9 does not work well with vista & XP. Hello. Try to turn off your firewall first and then try to install yahoo messenger again. To turn it off, just click on Start >> then Control Panel >> then Windows Firewall >> and Turn it Off. You can enable it back once installation is completed.

If you don't install the 9.0 messenger correctly, it will not work. It has to be,,,Run as the Administrator. I think if you Right click on the downloaded file after you download it, you will be able to Run as Administrator. If that is all too confusing you can,,, Do this,,,, Click on Start Button/ Settings/ Control Panel/ Add or Remove Programs. DUMP anything that says Yahoo Messenger (toolbar, address book etc etc etc) they will be listed at the bottom of that window if there are any), and go to this website,,,,, http://www.oldversion.com Scroll down (at the bottom of the page on the Left is Yahoo Messenger). Versions 3-8 are there to choose from. I PERSONALLY SUGGEST 7.0. BE SAFE Cheri PS.
