Why can't I install Yahoo messenger into computer?

Why cant i change my icon pic on yahoo messenger?

  • I just downloaded the Yahoo Messenger for my mac computer. Right when I went on I had this weird profile picture of a smiley face. I then clicked on the icon, and clicked on my display image...then this popped up: http://tinypic.com/r/jif7k0/7 So i clicked on browse and picked out the pro pic I wanted. It looked like this: http://tinypic.com/r/2crt7xs/7 There was no apply button, so I clicked the red button to X out. Once I xed out, the picture I wanted to be my icon pic, wasn't instead it was still the smiley face. It looked like this: http://tinypic.com/r/pr61u/7 I tried to unistall it and install it again, but for some reason I cant change my profile picture. Please help. Thanks,

    the image that you are trying to upload on the messenger doesn't comes from your computer. meaning, you are trying to pull up ONLY from the website that create pictures. if you like the way you look on the tinypic.com, download the image you edited to your computer and upload it directly to your messenger Messenger > My Display Image > browse the image directly from your computer and upload > then tick the box to "share my display image". *note: a computer that doesn't have a good protection, that site is not a safe site!!!
