I can't change the display image on Yahoo Messenger?

Okay, here is my problem. I am currently using the 3.0 version of Messenger for a Mac laptop, but for some odd reason I cannot change my display image. First I go to my display image on the settings and I change the picture to the one I want. It shows the picture I chose but it will not show up on my conversation windows or where all my contacts are. It still shows my old picture. What am I doing wrong?

that's the funny thing of Yahoo Messenger. don't be amazed to see like that. you're not alone to experience such problem. i may say, uninstall the messenger and reinstall but i can't guarantee it will change to the new pic you had chosen to be displayed.
