How do I delete yahoo messenger but keep my yahoo?

I keep getting a 'pop up' from yahoo messenger~I don't USE that~how do I delete messenger?

This is only a popup on my yahoo MAIL screen~it's from [email protected]~~from yahoo messenger~I don't USE messenger~~how can I stop this?
Answer:

Go to the Start button at the lower left of your screen. Click on that and click on Control Panel. You should see a link for Programs, or Change/Install a Program (depending on what windows you're using). At the bottom of that list you should see Yahoo Messenger. Right click and click on Uninstall. You may also see Yahoo Toolbar and some other Yahoo platforms. Do the same for all of them. Uninstall them all. Restart your system, and you should get rid of that pop-up.
