Is there a way to change a name on Messenger?

How do I change the way my name is displayed on the invitation to join my messenger list?

  • When I send an invitation to join my messenger list it shows up my real name on the invitation ... how do I change this. For example it says (My real name) would like to add you to his messenger list. How do I change this to a nickname

    When you get thew box with your real name...Back space it out,replace with a nick. Also,you can click on messenger on main messenger box,on drop down click My Contact Details....on this box remove your real name and replace with nick

click on messenger then click on contact details. You will see your realname there.Put whatever name you want there

Hi, What are you doing to test that it's still not working? if you add someone that you have added before then they will not get the new name change unless they have deleted you from their address book as well as friends list. Their address book takes priority, so deleting just the id from their friends list to test adding will not work make sure it's removed from the address book too! :)

Create a new profile and set it as your default one, thats what you gotta do... Goto messenger menu then -My Profiles -Create/edit My Profiles -Now you will be taken to a new web page with a form Fill that form and in the "Profile Name" field use the name you want to appear with, complete the form and submit. -Now when it is done, set the newly made profile as your default profile from "My Account" -Done
