Why can't I see my contacts display pics?

I know that my contact has given permission for others to see his display pic but I can't get it to come up. I am using Yahoo messanger 8.1. He can see my display pic. I am not even given the option to open a contacts display pic when I am online with them..

If the person you are wanting to see doesn't allow you to view the pic then you can't do anything about it.
