How do I block offline messages?

How can i block offline messages?

  • Every time i start Yahoo Messenger, I have a bunch of offlines from xrated sites. Especially if i visited a chat room before i closed Messenger previously. Is there a way to stop offlines from them? But get them from friends?

  • Answer:

Simple instructions: Block everyone but your buddies in Messenger until you get: YTunnel. (www.ytunnelpro.com) There you can fine tune who can send you messages and offlines.

Yes you can go into your messenger preferences then to ignore list and check the Ignore anyone who is not on my messenger list. BUT if you do that then sometimes it will also block what people say in chat rooms and since you go there I recommend you don't do that ! As an alternative I can recommend a very good program called Y!Tunnel >>> http://www.ytunnelpro.com/ there is a Pro(paid) and a Free Basic version. When set up right it will automatically block unwanted messages and let only friends send you messages, Plus it has many other benefits that you can read about on the Y!Tunnel web page. I have been using the Pro version for almost 5 years now and it has been well worth it !! They have a very helpful forum there as well if you need any assistance.

Click messenger top left in the mesenger window scroll down click preferences then scroll and click ignore list. In the next window you will see where to add people to your ignore list or you could check ignore anyone not on my friend's list. then click o.k
