Why can't I see my MSN friend when she's online- I can add her but not see her. I use a MAC and she uses a PC.

I added this newest version of YM for MACs because otherwise I couldn't IM my friend on MSN (MSN doesn't currently support MACs). I have added her as a contact, and she me as an MSN contact, but all she can do is email me. I can't see when she's online but I can apparently send her IM messages in the meantime, but which she can't receive. How do we fix this?

Answer:
In messenger click the messenger name next to contacts. The list will have status on it.Click it and see how it's set.To show click available. Then it should show you on line when you are. Also on mine if i click the persons name in the messenger address book it says either on line or offline. Not sure on the newer versions tho.Good luck hope this helps.
