Why does the server sign me out of my messenger?

I can't sign in to messenger even when other colleagues can do so on the same server. What can I do?

  SIGN-IN PROBLEMS WITH YAHOO MESSENGER If this is the first time that you have had the problem first try exiting Y!M by right clicking the Yahoo! icon by your clock and choosing exit.
