I have heard that i can chat with windows live messenger how i that?

i have heard that i can chat with windows live messenger by using yahoo messenger i have install both messenger on my computer but this is not working

I haven't been able to get it to work, but on messenger, up near the top you will see where its says Windows Live. You have to add the persons ID.
