Invisible mode on yahoo messenger?

Why can i be seen on yahoo messenger even though i'am on invisible mode?

  • ok, so, this is the problem....my mom lives in romania and i live in germany, we both use yahoo messenger to chat. my mom has a new version for 2 weeks, and she can see me even though i'm on invisible mode. she says, the new version lookes different then the old one she had on her computer. next to the name, she can see the smile icon, if some one is on invisible mode, then the icon is not as yellow as it is next to the online name. i don't think this is fair, because when i have my invisible mode turned on, it means that i don't wanna be seen!!!!! so what's this????

    I see a gray smile looking thing next to anyone's name on my list, unless they are online. That is how you are supposed to be able to tell if they are online or not. If the name has a gray smile they aren't on, if it is yellow they are on.
