Why yahoo messenger don't let add contacts?

i am trying to add some contacts to my boyfriend's messenger since last week.at first,i thought that was a general problem,i deleted my contacts but it let me add them.now i understood that was a problem with his messenger.i asked yahoo for help and it doesn't give me anything useful.so i came here with a last hope ,please answer my question if you know the answer.every time,i am trying there is a message like<there was an error in the server while trying to add a contact>what does that mean?

I have added 2 links for you to look at from Yahoo help! Also it might just be your server? You can always clear your cookies & try to add contacts again. Press START Click on CONTROL PANEL Click on INTERNET OPTIONS Click on DELETE BROWSING HISTORY Hope this has helped.
