Why does the mail alert in Yahoo not working?

My yahoo mail alert isn't working and it's set to alert me when I get mail. HELP!!!?

weird things are going on with this computer and it'a unexplainable to me. all at once my mouse doesn't work, my brand new one doesn't work, but my sion's does. and the main thing.....yahoo mail alert isn't working. tech says that my mouse port is bad but if that was the case, my son's mouse wouldn't work because it has the same kind of plug. But why my mail aletr isn't working is beyond me. Any help would be appreciated. Cause I sure don't know what to do. I ahte to have to call my computer repairman.
