Why can't I get to Yahoo messenger?

Why cant my grandkids cant get on yahoo messenger when they are already on yahoo mail?

    Personally I would recommend older version available to download here (6,0 – 7.5): http://chat-clients.com/content/view/422 Versions 8.0 and up are known to produce lots of problems. It also could be that her firewall is blocking Messenger from connecting. This would require examining it rules and making sure that Messenger is allowed in them: Besides if shes below 18 - she wont be allowed to chat. Yahoo liquidated teen categories and ban teens from chat due to recent litigations.

no seriously - listen - my friend just did this same thing - have the kids use a different screenname for messenger - my friend tried to use her mail yahoo name and it had alredy been taken..use something with numbers behind it... try that...good luck
