My windows live messenger does not work?

How do I get windows live messenger to work with windows 7?

  • I recently upgraded from windows vista home premium to windows 7 hope premuim using a 'clean install'. I then installed the latest Windows Live Messenger, and it wouldn't let me sign on. Windows Live support told me it may be my NVIDA driver, but i don't think it is as i've tried to disable it. I'm not sure what to do, my firewall is not blocking it nor is my antivirus.

Hello Hannah, First thing first is make sure your drivers are all updated, this is a common proceedure after upgrading to Windows 7: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isnt-working-properly.Dissabling the driver will not solve the problem. You may also want to check your system requirements, to make sure your computer can run WLM: http://download.live.com/SystemRequirements. When you are all clear on both fronts try installing again!
