Yahoo messenger wont connect to my yahoo mail?

when i click the mail icon nothing happens. I used to be able to click it and it would immediately go to my yahoo mail. What can i do to get it back to that??? also i cant open my settings in messenger either. hmmm. wondering how this even happend it was fine last night.

when i send a yahoo message why wont it let it go to the person to whom im sending to it always fails it use to not do that i need some help
