My Yahoo! Updates in my messenger isnt working. Please help!!?

I'm using this new Yahoo messenger beta .. it's wherein you can see the updates of your contacts on the right side of the contacts tab ... but the updates tab is just blank.. nothing! just all white.. I opened my sister's yahoo messenger but i can see the updates.. but in my account I cant :( Please helpp!!
