Why doesn't yahoo mail not work sometimes?

When i click on Yahoo Messenger icon, it doesnt work but Yahoo mail works?

I had the same problem a few months ago Yahoo was no help with helping me fix it, so I figured it out on my own. You may need to update Framework. Go to microsoft.com, in the search bar type in framework. download and install the new version. If that doesn't work click on start, run, type in the box regedit click file find Yahoo. You may have a registry error. you will have to find any file/folder marked Yahoo and remove it. then reinstall yahoo completely. I had to do it that way once. I had to remove Yahoo messenger, mail, toolbar, everything labeled Yahoo. Once I did that and reinstalled everything, it worked great.
