Why isn't Yahoo messenger opened?

Why does yahoo Messenger sign out when yahoo email is opened saying opened two different locations.?

  • I'm trying to fix my sisters yahoo. When she has her messenger open and opens her email it signs out her messenger saying she has signed on in two places. I've not seen this as related to email and messenger. Thanks

    Sounds like your sister is using Yahoo mail which has a built-in messenger and has the Yahoo messenger installed additionally. When Yahoo detects that you’ve already signed into Yahoo Mail, it will disconnect you when you try to sign into messenger or vice versa - hence the message that you are signed in to another computer. To get rid of your problem simply disable chat in your mail (!) account by clicking the smiley and following the prompts.
