Why wont yahoo conference chat work when 1to1 will?

My yahoo messenger conference chat is not working. The functions are grayed out, I am added to the chat and can see the texting but have no sound. When chatting one on one via voice chat it works fine? I am using Vista. Any suggestions appreciated?

Answer:
my only advice would be to reinstall the yahoo software. yahoo messenger has known conflicts with Vista as well.
