How do I use yahoo mail to send free text messages to mobile phones?

How can I send SMS messages to Verizon phones from Yahoo Messenger 10?

• Those I'm sending messages to can all receive SMS text messages and one even sent herself an SMS message from YM, but my messages don't go through. I get no errors, even after sending more than 3 messages without a reply. My YM is up to date and I only have problems sending to Verizon customers. I successfully send messages to other carriers' customers. Thanks so much :)

• Answer:

  On your Mail page's Chat app, click on the downward facing arrow and scroll to Available to open your Chat app. Click, New Chat and follow the prompts, which basically are; type your friends Messenger's or Window Lives e-mail address in the first window, followed by their phone number in the next window. Now you're able to write your message and send it. Only here, the computer dials the number, so once you write and send your message, your job is done.
