Why does error 999 keep coming when I try to enter chat rooms?

Suddenly I can't enter chat rooms. I get "Expectation failed" or "Communication error" when I try to enter.

  • suddenly, I began receiving error messages when trying to enter any chat room. Yahoo says they do not have live tech assistance for messenger. I tried uninstalling and then re-installing messenger to no avail. Does anyone have a helpful comment?

    Apparently yahoo started working on the servers sometime yesterday afternoon. If your having the same problem i am seeing you get an error after you inter the code to get into a room. Other times I enter the code and nothing happens, it just sets there and never enters the room. Some sections of chat are gone and in other sections you may be able to get into one room but not another. It looks like yahoo is doing another of its famous "upgrades" that usually result even poorer service.

I've been having the same problem since last night and tried everything as well. Looks like it is a Yahoo issue as usual. Let me know if Yahoo gives you an answer.
