My computer crashed. How do I get Yahoo messenger back?

I can't log into Yahoo messenger...please email if you have any ideas?

  • My computer crashed in a storm on Tuesday, I reloaded Windows, all the updates & programs on my PC. I was able to use messenger for a short time that evening. I rebooted as a promt from an update & when I logged back on messenger it would not let me. I have contacted Yahoo, they helped me change my password(several times) and told me to reload messenger in which I have done now at least 7 times....along with updating and making sure it was completely removed before I tried again. I still get the "Invalid screen name and or password" error message....please help me!, I've been working on this for days & can't seem to find a solution...thanks! PS I have tried other names including other peoples names & passwords....same error message

    try to install Micromedia Flash: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash or u have a corrupt file in ur Yahoo Messenger directory. To fix the problem, u must manually delete the Messenger directory on your C: drive, then reinstall the Messenger! goodluck ^_^

I once had a problem using messenger after restarting my computer without properly shutting messenger down. Try uninstalling yahoo messenger completely from your computer. Then shutdown your computer. Wait for a sec and restart. Then reinstall yahoo messenger. And see what happens. When my messenger wasn't working, I had to completely exit the program (because it loaded everytime I start my computer) and then shutdown and restart. Hope that helps!
