Webcam feature not available on messenger?

I am having problem with the "invite to view my webcam" feature of my yahoo messenger.?

  • Everytime i invite someone to view my webcam, i get an error message and get disconnected from yahoo messenger. But I can use the video call feature so my webcam works fine. I am useing A4tech model PK-635K webcam and i just also downloaded the latest ym but still the same problem. Also, i experience this same problem with all the other computers in my computer shop. Any ideas how to fix this?

    Unfortunately you do not give the error message. Make sure you have the latest A4 software in case a patch has been issued for this problem. http://www.a4tech.com/ennew/support.asp It would appear to be a conflict between the invite link and something installed on your pc. Since links are browser orientated - try downloading a new browser - use it without addons and make it your default for a trial run and see how it goes. There was a security exploit on Messenger 8, for webcam invites, but I doubt if you are using such an old version
