Why isn't messenger opening?

i signed up for yahoo messenger last week to chat with my boyfriend who works on a cruise ship. it was working fine, opening automatically every time i opened my macbook, but now it's not opening. i just see the spinning wheel. quitting it and restarting messenger doesn't work. what do i need to do??? i'm freaking out with no contact :(

i got the same problem too maybe yahoo messenger is got a bug or something i hope the problem will be sorted out by tomorrow if not it could take days or weeks

A lot of people have asked this same question in the last few hours, so I'm pretty sure that there's just a glitch. I would give it a while and try again.
