Why can't I see anyone in the chatrooms?

Y! Messenger allows me to login fine, but i cant see anything typed, and cant see anyone in chatrooms at all?

  • I can see who is online or not fine, but when i message them or they message me, i dont see anything in the chat boxes. Also when i go into a chat room, it shows only me and a yahoo administrator or something similar to that. What is wrong??? I cant even talk to anybody on Y! Messenger.

    you have a file associated with yahoo messenger missing or currupted.uninstall messenger and then run disk clean-up.if you have CCleaner run that and have it scan for issues and clean that up too.you can get CCleaner here... http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/ ...its free.then download and reinstall messenger again.hope this helps

When you send or receive an instant message and no message appears, you probably have scripting disabled in your Internet Explorer. To enable scripting: 1. Click the "Tools" menu on your Internet Explorer toolbar and select "Internet Options." 2. Click the "Security" tab. 3. Click the Internet (globe) icon and click the "Custom Level" button. 4. Scroll down to "Scripting." 5. Enable the following: * Active scripting * "Allow paste operations via script" if you're using Internet Explorer 6. * "Allow Programmatic clipboard access" if you're using Internet Explorer 7. * Scripting of Java applets are all enabled 6. Click the "OK" button at the bottom of the window. 7. Restart Yahoo! Both Doug and Hutson have excellent suggestions that you should be doing periodically anyway - add to that: error checking and defragging. Sometimes, your problem can be simply resolved by re-booting your computer. Good Luck
