Why is it impossible to sign in to Yahoo messenger?

When I try to sign into messenger I'm sent to the download page. I've downloaded this stupid program 3 times. I have 3 of these stupid little yellow balls on my computer and none of them work. I bypassed upset 2 months ago. I can't write the words to explain how I feel about Yahoo Mess!
