Windows Live Messenger has stopped working?

A problem has caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. I have been getting this popping up every time I try to log in to Windows live. I have tried reinstalling it twice and i keep getting the same message. I have windows 7 and Windows Live ver.9. The error window that comes up has no code attached to it as far as i can see. A easy 10 points for anyone who can give me steps that fix this problem. Thanks

Windows any version messenger stopped working months ago. In-fact it stopped working after I installed messenger 10.
