Why cant my friends see my type in chat room and i cant see theirs either?

When in chat room... i see typing from people on my friends but after some time, they cant see my type and i cant see their type either. Can u please advise why this problem might be occurring as it has only started happening in the past couple of weeks. I can hear the music being played in the room.
