Windows Live Messenger Webcam Help?

Big annoying problem with webcam on windows live messenger! PLEASE HELP!?

Im not the smartest when it comes to computers so please help me as good as u possibly can!!!! Everytime i go to send my webcam on messenger it just send a video call straight away rather then just sending the webcam! & I don't like video calls they are much slower i find! can someone please help me & like I said I'm not the best with computers so try dumb it down for me if its complicated! :) thank you!
