Can you help me with instant messenger?

Help! I can't open Yahoo! Instant Messenger?

  • Okay, so I can't open YIM from the desktop or from My Programs or anywhere else. And if by some miracle it DOES open, I get this: "Dummy: YAHOOM~1.EXE – Application Error The instruction at “0x71abd280” referenced memory at “0x00000000”. The memory could not be “written”. Click on OK to terminate the program Click on CANCEL to debug the program" So I tried both "OK" and "Cancel" and even tried exited out of the window, but nothing gets the YIM working. (BTW, webmessenger does work, just not the Yahoo! Messenger application) Also, I cannot uninstall YIM. Everytime I go to "Add/Remove Programs" in Control Panel and click on Yahoo! Meesenger, then only option I get when I click on "Change/Remove" is uninstall. So, I tried to remove YIM, but the unistallment ALWAYS freezes up. I even tried deleting the YIM folders and reinstalling it, but nothing worked! PLEASE HELP ME! Thanks!

    You should try doing it on the internet. In your yahoo mail, click messenger and you can do it online.
