Why am I being disconnected from my chat?

Why am i being "disconnected from chat" while in my Yahoo Mail, when i never use the Chat?

I have NEVER used the yahoo chat. it is always set to Available (because i have never changed the status), Anyways today as i was looking through my Email Inbox it gave me the error message: "You have been disconnected from the chat because you have signed into Yahoo! messenger from another computer or device". This is the first time this has ever happened. (I understand that When Yahoo detects that you’re already signed into Yahoo Mail with chat and you sign in to your Yahoo Messenger on your desktop, Yahoo will disconnect you, BUT I DO NOT HAVE YAHOO MESSENGER ON MY DESKTOP). so what is causing this??

Sounds like you are using Yahoo mail which has a built-in messenger and have the Yahoo messenger installed additionally. When Yahoo detects that you’ve already signed into Yahoo Mail, it will disconnect you when you try to sign into messenger or vice versa - hence the message that you are signed in to another computer. To get rid of your problem simply disable chat in your mail (!) account by clicking the smiley and following the prompts.
