Why yahoo messenger will not be updated automatically?

I updated my yahoo messenger...why has it stopped working!?

  • i put in the update, as i always do. since that day, i have not been able to use my yahoo messenger. i have uninstalled, and attempted to reinstall; and still nothing. ANY IDEAS?

    Does it give you any kind of error code ??....usually with updates it will only update to the next version...with the latest one being 10...You could have accidently downloaded a malicious update and it wrecked the updater........ Do this go to Freecreed.com......and download one of the older more reliable versions......I have 8.1 on my computer and i deleted the Yahoo Updater.dll.....so i will never get any more updates....see if that works......let me know.........the other thing also ....make sure you can chat out of your e-mail page...otherwise....if you can't ...possibly your account has been hacked......and no longer any good......
