How can I prevent Google Talk from disconnecting?

How to prevent yahoo messenger,google talk,rediff bol etc chating s/w loading at booting time?

    In your Y IM. click on messenger >preferences >general >Un tick the top one 'automatically start YM. then click on apply and ok. you can also check any other things that you miight like to change. But remember to click on apply - ok .or they wont change. good luck.

go to the start menu and go to run. type in msconfig. click on the start up tab and you can change what starts up with your computer. Restart to make effects stick.

Right click on the program in the systray (lower right). Under options check not at start up (or something like that). Then the programs will only start when you start them.

You can turn each of these off in the software - they have an "automically run when I log on to Windows" option or similar. Another way is to run "regedit" find the following keys and delete any values under it relating to software you don't want to run at start-up: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\W… HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\… Make a note of anything you change in case of problems. Only do this if you are confident with regedit.

Once you get everything booted, go into the offending programs and look for options. In the options area or tools you will find the choice of start at boot up. Un-click that and you should be good.
