Why does the server sign me out of my messenger?

Why recent use of my webcam on yahoo messenger i get the "a network error while connecting to the server" sign

  • until recently i was able to use my webcam on yahoo, why the change? how can i correct this problem easily, i as im not a computer wizz. cam seems to work on hotmail and skype when i do the tests. waiting for replies, thanks

    please do not turn off your firewall i have recently had this problem. am i right in guessing that you have norton internet security ? if so, it might well be a firewall problem. follow this action : open up norton internet security, settings, personal firewall, configure, programme control. scroll down to yahoo messenger and change auto to allow. this should hopefully resolve your problem. good luck ... Fox (nb. above action may differ on different versions of Norton.)

The same thing has happened to me, and I found out that it wa my anti-virus program that was blocking it. I had to disable hte program for the time that I wanted to use my webcam. Good luck with it!!
