Cannot log on to yahoo messenger, is Yahoo having a problem?

Hello, I am having a problem with yahoo messenger. When i log it after a few minut it automaticlay log out?

    OK well chances are your PC/laptops old and you need to gt a new version of yahoo or a new laptop or PC and then download it again..its happening with my friends so your not the only one and I wouldnt want you to have to deal with this...do u have a iPod Touch?? if you do..you can access yahoo messenger through it...its an app I believe its called "Yahoo! Messenger" lol pretty obvious huh? And I think its free too hope I helped

It might be because you are logged in to your inbox as you are trying to log into YMessenger. When you go to your inbox you must disable chat if you haven't done so. On the far left of your inbox (you must be signed in, of course) you will see in the middle something that says "Chat and Mobile Text". On the drop down arrow, click it and choose "offline". You will now be able to use your YMessenger and go to your inbox without being logged out of YMessenger.

For example, Yahoo Messenger with Yahoo Mail or Yahoo Webmessenger, your mobile phone, Ipod, or other computers etc. etc. Yahoo classifies all these programs as "Different devices or locations". Navigating from one to the other will close one program and you may get a notification message, telling you that "You have been signed out of chat". Note. Hitting the X on the Contacts page in Yahoo Messenger does not sign you out of Yahoo Messenger (unless you made that setting in 'General'. it only closes the contacts page. Like WLM you have to close the program by right-clicking the icon in the system tray and selecting 'Exit' You can have Yahoo Mail and Messenger ( or any other program ) open at the same time as long as your status is "Offline" in Yahoo Mail. Use the drop-box next to your name and "Sign out of chat" Your online contacts will vacate the inbox until you make yourself "Available" again If you suspect your account is being hacked :- Close down all Yahoo programs and enter your user name in this software and hit 'GO' http://detectinvisible.com/ If you want to use the IM (Instant Message) feature in Yahoo Mail Close all other Yahoo programs and set the status next to your name to 'Available' by hovering your cursor on the smiley and selecting 'Available'
