Why I can't send messages from yahoo messenger?

I cant send Text messages from my Yahoo messenger?

  • I am using my system - Compaq laptop, Windows XP professional and Yahoo messenger 8.(latest). my problem is, i can receive messages from my friends, but i cant send any message, they are saying that they see a message that i am typing(below the chat window). I am connecting the internet through Mobile GPRS. rest all are working fine, google talk etc.

    A lot of people complain re having problems with the yahoo messenger version 8. Is it possible for you to switch it back to the old one which works before? There are a lot of changes at Yahoo. That could be the culprit. Sometimes, you were blocked by the other party. Or they marked themselves busy. This shows up as a red icon next to their name. So you can not send any messages.
