How do I log into Yahoo messenger once I have downloaded it?

I cannot log in after I downloaded Yahoo Messenger 8?

I downloaded Messenger 8 when 7.5 was stil in use. I can log in to Yahoo Mail.

I had problems with both the versions. 7.5 and 8.0. I could not logon. I have installed 7.0 and its working like a charm.
