Why can't I hear anything in Yahoo Messenger voice conferences?

  • When I join a Yahoo Messenger voice conference, I can't hear anything. I can't even move the voice control slider--none of the voice controls respond. However, my audio setup went without a hitch. I'm running Vista, so I tried to run it in compatibility mode--that didn't work either. What's going on????

    first of all windows vista is new and it hasnt really got all the bugs worked out of it yet. i'ld also suggest unistalling and re installing messenger. also if u got the newest messenger that may be part of ur problem as well the new messenger has problems of its owne. I myself have messenger 6.1 and i got xp i have no problems with voice in a room or in a pm.windows xp and the newest messenger have more features and are new . however they havent been road test so to speak. if u are also free of viruses and stuff and ur clean there. i'ld suggest dumping the newer messenger and try an older version.
