How do you get the webcam to work on MSN messenger?

Logitech WebCam STX Yahoo Messenger?

  • Hello, I purchased a Logitech Quickcam STX communicate today and am having a diffuclt time getting Yahoo Messenger to find the camera. I have selected the camera source as being the only driver loaded for this device and it does not seem to help. The camera does work with other applications. The box and supporting software says that it works with IM MSN, Yahoo and AOL. I have completely uninstalled messenger and the webcam to include cleaning up my registry. After a re-install I still have the same problem with messenger not finding my camera. I downloaded the most current version of the software from Logitech also. I do get a stange window that pops up when I open Messenger, and it tells me that there is a USB phone ready for use/installed. I am also showing the webcam as a removable drive under My Computer. Please help if you can... Win XP and new PC with Nvidia graphics cards.
