Why won't Yahoo let me sign up in Yahoo messenger?

Why the Yahoo Messenger wont let me sign in?

I'm so upsetx(My mess is not working,i can enter to see my emails,so the password is CORRECT,but when i try to use the Y!M it says: There was a problem signing you in to yahoo messenger,and there are 3 buttons: new user,forgot password,close. It is very annyoing,i uninstalled it,i downloaded the 8,9,and 10 version of Y!M,and still doing thisX(it`s very frustrating,it all started a few months ago,i never had these problems before.can u help me,with tips or something?or my laptop is having viruses or something??

I have exactly the same issue on two different computers.It began today was fine last night. Also the chat function on the actual email system is not loading. Maybe its a yahoo issue. I fixed mine. I went into Firefox and downloaded the latest update of Firefox. Then rebooted the PC. Yahoo IM works now. I tried that because the yahoo help screen suggested I update Firefox so it seemed to be connected - good luck
