How do you permanently turn off voice in yahoo chat?

In yahoo voice chat i can here other pesion voice but they r not able to here my voice in chat rooms too?

i m reguler user of yahoo chat in voice my voice is not going at all even i can not see any singh while taking i dont know what is the problem even in confrance i can here other voice but while i speek other persion is not able to lision and also no sings i can see in the confrance box please help me

I've had this happen to me a couple of times. First time it was because I needed to upgrade my sound card. Second time I found out my microphone was shot. The third time drove me nuts. I looked and looked, then finally figured out that my microphone wire had a short in it. Sometimes the simplest answers are the right ones. I hope this helps and good luck.
